Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade item items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade item components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot from enemies, or received from missions and chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it, and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be put in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from the previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

If an Best item upgrader is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to reach its max level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower rate of success.

Rerolling
