This Roomba is classified as one of the top vacuums available. It is the most powerful AI obstacle-avoidance system of any vacuum we've ever tested. It also features mopping features with dual rubber brushes, which are less likely to tangle than bristle brushes.

It utilizes random navigation (or bumps) instead of vSLAM. This takes longer, but ensures that every room is cleaned. It also has a long battery life and works effectively on hardwood and carpet flooring.

1. Roomba i3+ EV

The i3+ EVO has a stylish matte gray finish on its top, which resembles fabric and reduces fingerprints. Smart mapping technology creates a map for your home using sophisticated sensors. This allows it to keep rooms clean and stay clear of obstacles. You can also set your cleaning preferences using the irobot self empty base app, which gives recommendations based on your home and seasons (like having it run more frequently during allergy season). The high-efficiency filter on the robot's filtration system traps 99 percent of allergens, such as dust mites, mold hair from cats and dogs, and pollen. It also has cliff and edge-sweeping sensors, four brushes (including two long, multi-surface brushes and one side brush) and an incline tracker that keeps the robot on its designated route.

During our tests during testing, the i3+ EVO cleaned our floors quickly and effectively. It was able to easily go from carpets to rugs and back again. It also did not have any issues moving over the wooden and metal trims that separate flooring types. It did bump into some objects, like pet toys, handbags and shoes, but it was able to maneuver around them. It also missed a few areas of dirt on our carpeting, though it was able to collect pet hair in other areas.

While it's a good choice for homes with carpeting, the i3+ EVO falls short of the other models when it comes to picking up crumbs and heavier debris. It has a difficult time vacuuming pet hair on carpeting and may not be an ideal choice for those who wish to have their robot completely replace their conventional vacuum cleaner. Also, it lacks the superior obstacle-avoiding capabilities of premium Roombas like the J7+ and S9+, which makes it more likely to run into pet waste and spread it all over flooring.

2. Roomba J7+

This is among the top robot vacuums for those with a mix of hard flooring and carpet. Its best feature is its obstacle detection, which cleverly eludes things like cords, furniture legs and even pet debris. It also does a really great job at cleaning hard floors and removing long hairs that get stuck in the brush.

The Roomba J7+ is unlike many other robots in that it is able to adjust its suction strength. This is done via the app. It also has a good map editor, and a section for favourites. The j7+ is also quite quiet, especially when it comes to the higher flooring options. It is able to keep up with manual vacuuming.

As is typical the top models of iRobot's line tend to perform better than the lower-end models. In our tests, we found that the j7+ was able pick up more dirt on carpeted and hard surfaces, and also cleaned better in crevices. The only problem was that it performed poorly in our long human hair pickup test, which is a problem that occurs with all robots.

The j7+ comes with a self-emptying Clean Base that automatically transfers dirt from the robot's bin into an enclosed dirt bag each time it docks. This helps reduce the need to be hands-on and is a great benefit for those who suffer from allergies. The j7+ is compatible with irobot roomba pet series Braava Jet M Series robot mop through its Imprint Link feature. It will resume mopping automatically after the vacuuming has been completed.

3. Roomba i7+

Watching the i7+ clear rooms is a fascinating experience. It follows a pattern of logistics similar to how a lawn-care professional trims a field prior to a sporting event. Sometimes it will return to its dock to empty its trash bin or recharge its batteries. This feature, which lets the vacuum to empty itself, is a welcome feature that reduces the requirement for manual maintenance.

It also has a good deal of suction power, pulling up dirt and pet hair easily. It is able to remove the majority of debris on carpets with high pile in just one pass. It can also detect areas that are prone to traffic and spend more time there. This is particularly helpful when your pets and children bring in large amounts of dirt from outside.

Another excellent feature is Smart Mapping, which allows the i7+ to learn the structure of your home and then create an adjustable floor map while it vacuums. It took four hours to fully map my two-bedroom apartment however, once it had done it was able to navigate the space logically and efficiently. You can further alter the mapping via the app by creating virtual boundaries and assigning rooms names. You can set the i7+ up to clean the area around the cat's litter tray every morning, or to keep the sofa in the living area after everyone has gone home.

The i7+ includes a sidebrush and a tangle free spinning squeegee that are perfect for removing any debris that could otherwise fall to the ground. It also comes with a battery with Recharge and Resume technology, so it can pick up right where it left off on the previous cleaning session, if you let it charge up.

4. Roomba 694

The 694 is a fantastic entry-level robot that will help you keep your home clean without the advanced features of more expensive models. It learns your cleaning habits to suggest schedules, and works with Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants that allow you to start cleaning with one command and is controlled using the irobot for pets app.

Its dual multi-surface brushes pick dirt and grime from carpets and hard floors and an edge-sweeping brush is able to tackle corners and edges. The battery can last for 90 minutes before docking back to the Home Base when it runs out.

A large Clean/Power button lies in the middle of the top panel, with Spot and Home buttons below and above it. The indicator for the battery level glows orange when charging, and then green when the robot is fully charged. The dustbin slides into the robot's back and is released by pressing a button.

The Roomba 694 does an excellent job at navigating floors with no carpet and is able to remove large debris like cereal and rice, but it isn't as adept at handling tiny particles such as baking soda. It also tends to overflow the dirt container as it fills up. It doesn't do as well on carpets with low pile however it does score higher than other robot vacuums in this price range.

It is very effective at cleaning hair from pets. However, some hairs could get caught in the side brush. Its mediocre performance on kitty litter is a problem however, it still beat the top score of many other robots in this area and beat our top value pick (the Roborock S4 Max) by 19 points. The 694 costs a bit more than the eufy RoboVac 30C but feels more robust, needs less maintenance, has lower cost of operation, charges more quickly and performs better on floors with high-piles and bare floors. It also has a bigger dustbin and can be used with or without an internet connection.

5. Eufy 11s

The eufy 11s is one of the most affordable robot vacuums available and is a great pick if you need an easy-to-use and reliable machine. This model can remove dust, pet hair, and other particles on hard and low-pile floors. It also does a great job of maneuvering around obstacles and furniture. Its slim profile is perfect for navigating under low-clearance couches or coffee tables and other furniture, and it's also one of the quietest robot vacuums we've test-driven.

However, that's not all - this is one of the simplest models we've seen, and it's missing some features found on more expensive models. For example, it doesn't work via an app, which means you'll need to create the schedule with the remote control. It doesn't have an indicator for battery level or a dust bin alert. You'll need manually empty the bin whenever needed.

This model is well built and is easy to maintain despite its cost. It has a long battery lifespan, and it is able to perform well on flat floors and around obstacles. In our tests it was able climb over low-lying obstructions like electrical cords better than the Roomba 694 or Shark Ion robots, but it had trouble with carpets with high piles.

While the eufy 11s is better than the ONSON GOOVI F007 we suggest a more premium option when you can afford it. The iRobot Roomba 694 has a longer battery life, is easier to maintain, and has a lower costs for recurring use. It's also better at cleaning bare floors as well as moving around furniture. It also has a larger dustbin.
